Panzanello

In 1994, Andrea Sommaruga moved to Panzanello, marking the beginning of his journey as a winemaker.

Andrea worked tirelessly in the fields, learning from Luigi and his son-in-law Vasco. They taught him how to care for the vines and olive trees, how to drive tractors, and everything he knows today is thanks to them.

He bottled his first wine in 1995—and it wasn’t a bad start. He began with 900 bottles, and today the Panzanello estate produces over 50,000 bottles each year. Back then, Panzanello was a 30-hectare estate; today it covers around 90 hectares.

In 1998, Andrea and his wife Ioletta completed the transition to becoming a certified organic farm.
