Cafaggio

The winery Tenuta Cafaggio in Panzano stretches over about 60 hectars, of which 30 hectars of specialized vineyards, 10 hectars of olive groves and the rest of woodland; immersed in the “Conca d’Oro”, the Golden Shell which is recognized as one of the best areas for the production of Chianti Classico. The origins of Tenuta Cafaggio date back to the middle ages. The first document which certifies the existing of Cafaggio is dated 1408 as shown on a precious scroll kept in the archives of the Estate. At those times the estate’s name was “Cahago” which means cultivated, fenced field. We produce one Chianti Classico, two Chianti Classico Riserva, one Gran Selezione and two IGT “Cru”, further Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Grappa. The estate is certified organic since 2014.
